baby bibsHave you ever wondered whether a newborn baby really needs to wear a bib? They aren’t eating solid food or sitting in a high chair, just drinking milk. If some milk comes back up, surely a burp cloth can do the trick. You’ve likely seen some newborn babies without bibs and you can bet their mothers are changing and soaking and washing a lot of baby outfits which used to look wonderfully new.

A lot of extra laundry can be avoided by making use of a baby bib. After all, bibs are easier to change and wash than entire outfits. Baby bibs are always in the perfect place at the perfect time, catching those icky spit-up surprises.  Burp cloths often are there only after the fact and by then the damage is already done. When you make use of a bib, though, it’s relatively easy to preserve all those adorable little outfits.  You also protect your baby’s sensitive skin, keeping it dry and free of spit-up and drool.

To Soothe or Not to Soothe

There seems to have always been a debate about which soother to use for your baby, or if you should use one at all. It all really comes down to personal choice and what works well for your baby. There are some definite things not to do, such as dipping the soother in honey.  This will promote the developmorganic-cotton-bibent of rotten teeth.  If baby drools whilst sucking, tie a cute organic cotton bib around the neck and change it often so the wetness doesn’t chafe the skin.

Soothers, in some form or another, have been around for hundreds of years.  They used to be whatever was safe to pop into the babies mouth. Nowadays, there are silicone or rubber, and all tested and researched to make sure baby can come to no harm whilst being soothed.

Bibs and Burp Cloths

Do you wonder whether a newborn baby really needs a bib?  The child isn’t eating solid foobaby bibd, just drinking milk.  If some milk comes back up, you can mop up with a burp cloth.  Unfortunately, much of the excess milk soaks into the neck of the clothing and it can be nasty to get out.

A lot of extra laundry can be avoided by making use of an organic cotton baby bib. Bibs are very absorbent and much easier to change.  The organic cotton won’t chafe and irritate baby’s skin.  You can keep one round their neck to catch the spit-up, drool and little surprises and whip it off to show a cute outfit, perfectly preserved for company.  Mommy and baby both happy.
