Comfort Cotton

It is a Sunday morning. Everyone else is still asleep. You take this once a week chance to take a moment for yourself. You quietly get up from bed and put on your bathrobe, slink silently out of the room to the kitchen and prepare your coffee, step outside on the porch and just take in the morning.

You didn’t used to do this. You used to stay in bed as long as you can because that is where it is most comfortable. You don’t get up early at all on weekends. You smile and continue to envelop yourself in one of your Egyptian cotton bathrobes and relish the luxurious material that your skin have longed to feel. The porch door squeaks and you turn slowly, defeated that your moment alone is cut short. It’s your husband coming out in his own Egyptian cotton bathrobe, joining you with his own coffee and you simply feel that everything is just the way it should be, at least for a couple hours more.
