cloth diapersAre you struggling with the decision about whether to ‘cloth diaper’ your baby or not?  There are so many advantages to using cloth diapers that go far beyond the health of your baby’s skin. The first one must be that cloth diapers are much less abrasive on your baby’s soft, sensitive skin.  This leads to fewer rashes than with disposable diapers.

Another advantage is that cloth is more economical because you wash and reuse the diapers instead of throwing them away after one use.  That’s how disposable ones are designed. Baby diapers can be very expensive if you have to keep buying them.  Cloth is a onetime investment that gets multiple uses. Obviously, they are also better for the environment. Disposable diapers are often not biodegradable and just fill up the landfills.  Cloth isn’t meant to be thrown away.

Apart from helping with landfill problems, organic cloth baby diapers will also rescue baby from chafing and diaper rash.  Fluffy, fleecy and soft, they are exceptionally absorbent.  Organic cloth diapersorganic cloth diapers dramatically out-perform their rivals.  They are especially good as liners in pocket diaper systems, because they provide protection against all irritations as they wick-away and absorb moisture.

Organic cloth diapers grow softer and fluffier with repeated washings.  Even in the hardest water, they will not stiffen.  Diaper rash is not something you want your baby to suffer through.  No matter what creams you use, they are bound to have some unwanted ingredient in them that baby’s skin will absorb.

When your baby’s bottom is sore from all those uncomfortable rashes, it is best to take the diapers off frequently. This will prevent the baby’s stool and urine from making contact with the already sore skin and aggravating the condition even more. If you are worried about baby making a mess once the organic cloth diapersorganic cotton baby diapers are off, you can keep them on a rubber mat covered with a washable cloth while you air the bottom.

Make sure to keep baby’s bottom clean and dry. The most effective way to prevent diaper rash or to treat an existing one is to pay particular attention to this area. The microorganisms that cause skin infections just love the moist and warm environment under those diapers!
