Expectant parents purchasing bedding for their new baby need to know what will be safe and comfortable and not result in itchy rashes.

Baby needs a lot of tender loving care.   Newborn baby skin is delicate and extremely prone to rashes, so care must be taken to pick out fabrics that are soft and not abrasive to baby’s skin.  When picking your baby’s bedding, safety should be the most important thing to consider.   It must be remembered that just because a product is 100% cotton doesn’t necessarily mean it is safe.

When purchasing clothing, it is always best to go with organic cotton baby clothing to keep your baby away from harmful chemicals used in regular fabrics.  Formaldehyde is commonly used in cotton, but can stay in the fabric even after many washings.  Formaldehyde is suspected of causing SIDS.
