Comfort Cotton

A lot of time and energy goes into clothing your baby during the first year. From the color debate, to the rapid speed at which most infants outgrow their clothing, new parents have their plates full with keeping their babies clean, comfortable and clothed. So what do you do when all of a sudden, the baby
doesn’t want to wear any clothes at all? How do you deal with the exhibitionist stage of your toddler?
At about fourteen months, your baby will most likely want to romp around in the buff. This is completely normal, and in fact could help a little bit with potty training.
When they’re ready to accept clothes
, buy them the organic cotton best.
Toys and games are some of the best ways to keep babies and toddlers quiet and entertained while on the road. There are a great many toys, books and games which are designed just for traveling situations. These travel items may include things like colorful pop up story books that parents can read to babies on the plane, games the child can play by his or herself and even computer games a baby can enjoy.
As with any items designed for babies and young children, the best traveling toys and games will have bright colors to capture their attention as well as interesting and appealing shapes to keep them focused on the game.
Nothing is nicer for a child than to come out of a bath or the pool and be wrapped in a lovely bathrobe. I’ve found two types that are perfect for this purpose.
The Terry Robes are a light stretchy organic terry towelling trimmed in a nice pink organic cotton and embellished with embroidered pocket. They are so soft and comfortable for days at the beach, pool or cover up after a bath.
The Sherpa Robes are made from super soft organic cotton sherpa. It is extremely soft, thick and plushy 100% certified organic cotton. It is heavy weight and fluffy texture with nice wooly touch to it. Very absorbent and luxurious.
If you’re going to choose safe, organic cotton clothing and bedding, you also want safe bath products, right?
Excerpt from The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics
“A recent National Cancer Institute study reinforced the link between formaldehyde exposure and cancer. Formaldehyde is also an allergen that can cause rashes in sensitized people. The chemicals were not disclosed on product labels because contaminants are exempt from labeling laws.
“There is no excuse for a baby shampoo marketed as ‘the number one choice of hospitals’ to contain chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer,” said Lisa Archer, national coordinator of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and a staff member of the Breast Cancer Fund. “As a manufacturer of trusted brands, Johnson & Johnson has a responsibility to remove carcinogens and other hazardous chemicals from its products.”
Other companies are making similar products without carcinogens, and Johnson & Johnson is already making formaldehyde-free products in Japan, where the chemical is banned from cosmetics.”
What little girl doesn’t love a tea party? This ultra soft comforter is made of 100% cotton and has a lighter weight fill, which is very comfortable for your little one.
The top is a fun pink and white polka dot print with rosy pink plush appliquéd circles. Outline quilting makes the polka dots “pop” off the comforter. The reverse is pink and purple striped coordinate.
The toddler sheets are 100% ultra soft cotton as well. Sweetly colored teapots with hearts, scrumptious cupcakes and delicate flowers cover the light pink sheets. The pillowcase has a self hem with a decorative pink ribbon trim. The fitted sheet is made to fit a toddler bed/crib mattress.
Think about replacing your toxic sheepskin pelt with one of these Plush Pads. Unfortunately all pelts with the animal backing are tanned with some chemicals.
Some hard work went into creating a fabric that felt the same and was all organic, with no poly backing. This is simply pure, organic O Wool with an organic cotton backing. It is 19″ x 37″ for floor play, cradles, anywhere you desire comfort for your baby.
So unbelievably breathable you do not have to fret that your baby may have trouble breathing on these.
Every baby needs some bibs and when they’re tiny, burp pads
as well. Whether they’re breastfeeding, eating or playing, they all seem to leak from the mouth.
There’s a great way to catch those drips and spills with this wonderful line of bibs and burp pads. The Sherpa bibs are super soft and larger than the other styles. Interlock bibs are 2 layers for protection. Now the new Terry bibs have adorable embroidered designs which are fun and help hide stains. Fit well for babies newborn to 3 years.
The cultivation of cotton begins with hand-picked cotton, free of chemicals and pesticides. This prevents your baby from developing skin and other allergies, while at the same time protects the workers and the environment.
Right after the harvest, the cotton is spun and manufactured mechanically free of any chemicals. This reduces the shrinkage to 4% and leaves the garments and bedding feeling softer for your infant’s skin.
In the end, you, the consumer, purchase soft, durable, chemical-free garments that are safe for your child, while at the same time you are helping protect our environment.
If you’ve recently given birth at the hospital, it’s very likely that your baby was first handed to you wrapped in a thin, soft blanket. This is often known as a receiving blanket. In general, these are any blankets that are created with a light material and wrapped around or placed under a nude or partially nude child. The main benefits of these kinds of blankets are warmth and increased hygiene.
But these blankets can be used beyond the hospital. In fact, many parents like to have a stash of these blankets to use directly after bath time. They can even be used as an added comfort in the crib or for a sense of security while nursing. Many parents also look into purchasing an organic receiving blanket, because these blankets are made of fabrics that won’t harbor allergens or irritate a baby’s sensitive skin.
How cute is this? Baby’s own little kimono! It’s made of the softest organic cotton possible for your baby’s health and comfort. Their skin is very sensitive to pressures and irritations but you’ll find none of that with this clothing.
Little bodies are so wriggly and squirmy that getting clothes on their bodies is often very time consuming and frustrating. It is so easy to spread this kimono out, wrap it around and tie the ties. Will fit an infant up to 6 months. There are lovely colors to choose from as well.
