toyWe must all be concerned about the environment. This concern, of course, extends to our children who will inherit the world we leave them. Green toys have become a large and growing part of the toy industry. Many of the award programs now include giving awards to companies that make so called green toys.

What makes a green, or eco-friendly toy? There are so many definitions and it’s hard to know exactly what they mean. A green company or toy may embrace some or all of these principals. It is wise to do your research and understand exactly what you are purchasing and what makes it safe for your child and for the environment.  It’s good to know, when you purchase a toy that is advertised to be green or eco-friendly, exactly what philosophies they are embracing.

baby toysUsually teething in your baby starts from month 6 and is the result of some inflammation, resulting in swelling of the gums.  While for some babies it does not appear to be a problem at all, other tots might find it quite painful.   Something cold will help to soothe the inflammed gums, such as one of the  organic cotton baby toys, soaked in water and then frozen.

There is usually a sequence in how babies get their teeth.  The lower incisors come in first, followed by the top incisors then the molars and canines follow.

They are an excellent gift to give to a baby, as it helps them with such motor skills as eye-hand coordination and touch. The sounds that the rattles make stimulate baby’s sense of hearing as well as using their dexterity when they reach for their favorite toy.

Baby rattles are one of the most popular baby gifts that people purchase for expecting mothers. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. There are many silver rattles that are purchased for a baby as its first rattle. It is often purchased with the intent of it becoming an heirloom for the baby. Other rattles are passed down from one generation to another, from parent to child, keeping the tradition of the rattle alive within a family.  Since the baby is going to put it in it’s mouth, you want to be sure that it’s safe to do so.  Organic cotton baby toys rattle it ideal.
