When choosing baby bedding, choose something which can guarantee optimum safety and coziness to your baby. The best fabric for the baby would be 100 percent organic cotton bassinet bedding. You want to be sure baby doesn’t develop a rash from chemicals in synthetic materials.

Bassinets are ideally suitable for the baby for the first 3 or 4 months. A perfect bassinet will have a soft cuddly mattress, a puddle pad to protect this mattress, a sheet and a blanket. It is not necessary, or wise, to give a baby a pillow until they are two years old.  The bassinet should be made of soft material with preferably the color blending with the baby’s room.

Look for the seal of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), a trade organization whose safety standards are much higher than those of the Federal Government.
