Comfort Cotton
I’m not really an expert in Egyptian culture and history. The only thing I know about it is what I have watched in movies and some documentaries. So far, I am liking what I know. I know about the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx and how much sacrifice, work and skill was put into creating it. I know about the Nile and the vast deserts and how they stand as witness to history. Their love for beauty and belief in many gods always enthralled me.
The vision of Cleopatra and her lovers make me want to have my own luxury Egyptian cotton sheets. The riches of King Tut buried with him in his chamber gives me pause. Egypt and its people and culture shall hold my interest probably until the end of my days. Let Egypt be my obsession.
When we buy beddings it usually comes with a tag providing washing instructions. We should follow these instructions carefully because manufacturers go through a lot of trouble making studies on the best way to take care of their products. Egyptian cotton sheet is considered a high quality sheet. It is breathable and light weight. It is also softer but surprisingly more durable that other types of cotton sheet.
Manufacturer’s instructions for Egyptian cotton sheet will generally allow machine washing on gentle cycle. The color of the fabric should determine what temperature you wash your fabric in. Darker bedding can be washed in warm water, whereas white sheets should be washed in cold. Whenever practical, hand washing is still the best option. It is best to do it with lukewarm water and very mild detergent.
