Comfort Cotton
It is back to reality, after months of being ecstatic to planning the wedding, to the wedding that was truly beautiful, and finally to the wonderful honeymoon my husband and I shared. It was one hell of an adventure, and I am happy to have finally tied the knot with the man I love. Now we are off to our home, and the post-wedding bliss begins. In a few more days we have to get back to work, but before that we have to fix our things and organize what we have left before we flew off for our honeymoon.
We opened boxes upon boxes of gifts from family and friends, most of which were the ones we picked out for our bridal registry. It was a matter of opening everything and storing them on each of their assigned places in the house. One of the things we got were 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets from a friend of mine, which she knew I absolutely love. Since I hardly get to have enough hours for sleep because of my work, I am one of those who would want to make the most of the time I get to catch some sleep. I could not wait to use them, and I know once I get on back to work these things would be put to good use when I come home tired and stressed. It is now back to reality!
Thread count refers to the number of threads, both horizontal and vertical, in a one-inch square of fabric. Thread count is affected by a number of different factors, including ply and thickness of the threads that are used. The most common products where thread count is an issue are sheets. There are1000 thread count sheets, such as Egyptian cotton sheets that are available at most department stores. These sheets will cost a lot more because they are of a much higher quality.
Most of the online marketplaces now carry Egyptian cotton in a range of thread counts as well as colors. It is relatively easy to find a decent set of sheets, however, like most things, you will get what you pay for. A cheaper set of Egyptian cotton sheets will probably be made from a blend of fibers. These sheets will still be nice to use, but you won’t get the high quality and feeling that Egyptian cotton is known for. There is still no substitute for pure 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets.
Thread count is the number of individual fibers found in a square inch of fabric. One of the most common situations where the thread count is very important is in the manufacturing of bed sheets and other types of bedding material. An Egyptian cotton thread count is used for Egyptian cotton sheets which is considered the standard in high quality bedding. Egyptian cotton sheets are considered the “king of all cottons” because of its luxurious feel and durability.
Egyptian cotton is mostly made from a cotton plant called gossypium barbadense. It can also be made from gossypium hirsutum, which is another type of cotton plant. Egyptian cotton is widely known for its ability to create extra long staples, or fibers. These fibers can create thread that is thinner than other cottons because of their longer length. Thinner threads will result in higher thread counts, and the higher the thread count, the more luxurious the sheets will feel.
If you know anything about bed sheets then you know that thread count is very important. One of the best quality sheets out in the market today are 600 thread count sheets. High thread counts indicate the quality of the sheets. But thread count is not all that matters. There are other considerations to think of when buying your sheets.
First, let’s define thread count. Thread count is the number of vertical and horizontal threads in a one inch square. Sheet thread counts range from 80 up to 1,000. Higher thread counts such as 600 and above are definitely more expensive. This is the other consideration that I am talking about. So if you can afford it then go for it. It’s definitely worth the sleep you will be getting.
